Habitat Nepal is seeking a consultancy service to develop the Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) guidelines through gender and disability analysis in every phase of our programs, and operations to ensure that our activities are gender, disability, and social inclusive, and we consider the different needs of vulnerabilities of people of every gender.

Nepal Shelter Housing and Settlements Forum 2023
25-26 April 2023

We are pleased to invite you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for National Shelter, Housing and Settlements Forum 2023. We are seeking interested and qualified individuals/organizations to provide their insight and share their experience in the field to support the successful implementation of this initiative.
The event  provides an opportunity to showcase innovative approaches and best practices in the shelter, housing, and settlement sectors, and to recognize the achievements of individuals and organizations working in these sectors. Overall, this event plays an important role in promoting collaboration, coordination, and partnership among stakeholders in the shelter, housing, and settlement sectors in Nepal.

Vacancy for the position of Program Director

As a member of the senior management team (SMT), the Program Director reports to the National Director and is
responsible for the planning, preparation, implementation, management and supervision of Habitat for Humanity
Nepal’s overall programs in accordance with standards set by Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). The PD is
a leadership position and requires technical expertise with highly developed project, people management and
communication skills. The incumbent oversees the strategic programming of the organization in line with HFHI’s
Theory of Change and HFH Asia Pacific Strategic Framework and ensures program quality and effectiveness and
compliance with applicable Habitat, donor, partner and government policies and requirements. S/he is required to
transfer these skill sets and strengthen the capacity of program staff and across the organisation.

Terms of Reference
Project Name: Surakchhit Awash Project, Bipatpur (Kailali)

Under Surakchhit Awash Project in the Far West, MoU was signed between the Ministry of Land Management Agriculture and Cooperative of Sudurpaschhim Province and Habitat for Humanity Nepal to construct houses for Bipatpur Ex- Kamaya’s who were victimized by a massive fire caught in April 2022, under Surakchhit Awash Project. The ministry and Habitat for Humanity Nepal are jointly funding and implementing this project. There will be a total of 27 houses built under direct field supervision and social mobilization support by Habitat implementing partner Rashtriya Dalit Network (RDN), Kailali. As a plan to introduce a new appropriate technology that is affordable as well as uses local resources, it was decided to use CSEB interlocking bricks house model upon
consultation with the government and agreement from the beneficiaries.

The incumbent will oversee the Resource Development and Communications unit at Habitat for Humanity Nepal’s national office in Kathmandu and will lead the resource mobilizaton and communications for the organization. The position will identify, cultivate, retain, and develop existing and new engagements and prospects with foundations, institutions and corporate donors as well as within the Habitat networks to raise/leverage resources, and increase brand awareness and supporter engagement..

Consulting Assignment to prepare joint Advocacy
Strategy (Firm/company/individual consultant)

Habitat Nepal initiated a Solid Ground Campaign project for land advocacy in 2018 as a pilot. Currently, Habitat Nepal is supporting land diagnostics and advocacy efforts both from the supply (Government) side as well as from the demand (communities) side with stakeholders such as civil society and media as facilitators. Habitat Nepal seeks to partner with like-minded organisations to jointly support access to land for housing, focused on landless marginalized families for which a joint advocacy strategy is essential.

Market System Development Coordinator

The Market System Development Coordinator is a key position of Habitat Nepal’s project with the Hilti Foundation, focused on the adoption of disaster-resilient, durable, and affordable treated bamboo housing solutions among low-income families of the Eastern Terai. Purpose of the position is to work with NGO partners and support them for translating market system development strategy of Impact 2026 (Hilti-Phase II). S/he will contribute to design and lead to implement market-based strategies for Habitat Nepal under the direct technical supervision of the Hilti Project Manager. S/he has to work closely with local NGO partners, market actors and local and provincial government to accelerate marketing treated bamboo housing solution in Eastern Nepal.

Manager, Resource Development (Fundraising)

The Regional Resource Development (RD) Manager works closely with the Asia-Pacific RD team and the National Organizations (NO’s) in the region in developing their RD strategy and pipelines through donor mapping, researching and analyzing donor priorities, identifying funding opportunities and working with country teams to conceptualize and pitch new programs and projects. This position reports to the regional RD Director who is based in the Asia Pacific office in Manila, Philippines.

This position is ideally based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Habitat for Humanity may entertain alternate locations in the South Asia region where Habitat has an operating presence (India, Sri Lanka).

Vacancy- Grants, Contracts, & Compliance Manager

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Director the Grants, Contracts & Compliance Manager is responsible to manage the grant, contract, compliances, and partnerships and provide technical and strategic guidance in the preparation of partnership contracts, preparation, submission and processing the grants cost proposal. This position shall ensure the administration of financial resources received from bilateral, multilateral donors, Habitat’s affiliates and foundations follow the donor rules & regulations.
