Home to more than 600 families, the Salme village development committee in Nuwakot district was badly hit by the devastating 2015 earthquake. By December 2018, 426 families in Salme had rebuilt their homes with Habitat’s technical assistance and through grants provided by our partner ASF Nepal. In January 2020, the mountainous ward was recognized by the local government for its successful reconstruction when other affected wards had fallen behind.
